CDC guidelines for reopening schools

By Elijah Peters: Staff Writer

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) finally released guidelines to reopen schools across the United States. The CDC says that It’s safe to reopen schools but with proper precaution. In order to reopen schools, the CDC says that we need to focus on five important guidelines. The five important guidelines are, to wear masks correctly (no exposed nose or mouth), distance yourself from people, wash your hands frequently, wash classrooms and items touched, and have well-ventilated classrooms. “The CDC is not mandating that schools reopen,” said The CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky on Friday. According to the updated guidance, the 6-feet-apart rule should pertain to all K-12 schools in order to lessen the number of cases. Hopefully, with these guidelines in place, schools across the nation will begin to reopen and students will be able to attend in-person learning on campus.
